The Brazilian Phrases in Noise Test (PINT Brazil)

The goal of this study was to determine if the Phrases in Noise Test (PINT), which is recorded in English, could be adapted for the assessment of the hearing skills in children in the Brazilian population from the age of four-years old. The steps to adapt the PINT Brazilian Portuguese included translation of the stimuli, testing cultural equivalence (verify that children understand the stimuli), record the stimuli, adjust the stimuli for equal intelligibility, and create and validate the final test lists. To validate the test lists, the speech recognition of 10 children was evaluated. Introduction
